Meet Angus Cowan
The 10th annual Amble with Angus is drawing close, and each year I am amazed by the support and participation that the Amble with Angus receives from the Calgary community. The Amble with Angus has grown from an idea over a coffee to a positive and wonderful community event that has demonstrated to me that small contributions can lead to lasting positive impacts. Thanks to the runners and donations that have turned the "Amble" into an annual event, we have raised over $100,000.00 in support of the Calgary Food Bank. And thank you to the sponsors that have ensured that 100% of the donations are directly channeled to the Calgary Food Bank.
Our fund raising efforts are focused on the Children’s Milk Program at the Calgary Food Bank. There are two components to this program, 1) home delivery to families who have been referred by the Health Region and 2) deliveries to the partner agencies who work exclusively with low income children and mothers.
In recognition of the 10th anniversary, our goal is to have 1000 participants converge on Friday, December 16th at 7:30am at the Eau Claire Market to run or walk the 5 kilometre loop. What a sight it will be and what an opportunity to join in the fun and support your community altogether. I hope to see you at the starting line this year.
